Sailing out from the city center gives us a great view of Bryggen in Bergen, which is on UNESCO’s world heritage list. From there, we sail through magnificent scenery in the Osterfjord towards Modalen, Norway’s second smallest municipality. The crew takes us safely through powerful currents of the shallow and narrow Mostraumen straits. The further into the fjord we venture, the steeper and more powerful the mountain landscape becomes. We pass several cascading waterfalls. The captain steers the boat so close to the waterfalls that you risk feeling its refreshing spray on your face! The beautiful fjord landscape is rich in bird and animal life, and, with a little luck, we might see seals sunbathing on the rocky shore or even eagles soaring over us.
Our partner Rødne aims to run the most environmentally friendly operations possible for the fjord cruise tourism, and to give their guests from all over the world a sustainable fjord experience of the highest quality.
