Day 1: Coastal charm at Nevlunghavn Gjestgiveri

Day 2: Living history in Risør

 

After a long breakfast you are ready to take on the road towards Risør. The drive is only about 1,5 hours long, so we recommend you take your time. Perhaps you want to dip your toes in the water one extra time? We can also warmly recommend stopping by the Nedrum Museum, a whole museum devoted to one of the greatest classical painters of our time, Odd Nerdrum.

 

As soon as you arrive in Risør you are in the middle of a town full of history. This was once an important town for trade, and is one of the oldest towns in Southern Norway. Today, the iconic white wooden houses offers the perfect setting for relaxation and tranquility along the pier. You check in at Det Lille Hotel, a hotel just as charming as the town surrounding it. Feel the cozy and romantic atmosphere throughout the whole hotel and enjoy lovely cuisine and warm hospitality.

 

Day 3: Experience comfort in Lillesand

 

The story of Lillesand Hotel begins in 1837 when the Irish rebel Robert Gonsalvo Major fled his homeland and settled in Lillesand. He built a bark mill and tannery, in which the oldest part of the hotel has its origins. Since then the hotel has had many owners, and is currently owned and run by local girl Beate Holm Töpfer and her German husband Wolfgang Töpfer under the name Hotel Norge.

 

The hotel offers modern amenities and comfort. At the same time you will also be taken back in time, through interior and atmosphere. To the time when the famous Norwegian author Knut Hamsun lived in room 302, or when the Spanish King Alfonso became so excited about the room, the view and the people that he in 1931 carved the words "Alfonso Rex" into the mirror.

 

Just outside the door you will find the pier in Lillesand and a pedestrian street with charming little shops. Lillesand and the surrounding areas have much to offer. The hotel boasts a traditional atmosphere and style, but guests can also enjoy all the comforts you expect of a modern hotel. The rooms are all individual in style, and comfortable furniture in subdued colourways adds to the easy, relaxed mood.
