Day 1 - Check-in at Søstrene Storaas
Your short break starts by checking in at Søstrene Storaas Hotel, a hotel with its own farm right behind the main house. At the hotel, you can experience a unique family history that began when the sisters inherited a crocodile in the early 2000s. They found out that the crocodile had eaten their great-great-grandfather's dog, and that their great-great-grandfather, Holger, had 8 daughters with three different women, from three different continents. Then they collected a whole book of stories from near and far that today characterize everything they do. The sisters welcome you to their childhood home!
Upon arrival (17:00) you will experience a farm walk and storytelling about the hotel followed by a tasty dinner from the hotel's kitchen which prides itself on local product from local producers and great flavours from its own kitchen garden.
The hotel has a large kitchen garden, pigs and sheep in the fields throughout the summer, and a high-tech run-to-waste garden that is operational all year round (plants grown indoors in water that is circulated). From here, the hotel gets herbs and ingredients used in cooking.
