“Cider from Hardanger” is a geographical term, on a par with Calvados or Champagne. The unique cider has seen a renaissance and become an award-winning high-quality product.

 

There are 19 cider producers in Hardanger who produce their unique cider, based on their history and apples. In collaboration with our historic hotels and the cider farms in Hardanger, we have tailored a package deal which includes a Historic stay, visits to the cider farms and cider tasting. Will there be non-alcoholic options?

The producers stock several different products, often non-alcoholic options as well.

How do I get to Utne/Ulvik?

From Bergen bus terminal (Platform O) bus 925 departs to Nordheimsund at 07:25. The bus corresponds with a boat departing at 09:00 from Nordheimsund, taking you to both Utne and Ulvik.

Alternatively, bus 954 will take you directly from Voss Station to Ulvik. From Voss to Utne you first take bus 925 to Kvanndal, and then the ferry from Kvanndal to Utne.

Can I bring children?

Some of the farms offer special rates for children, on other farms the children pay a full fare. There is alcohol-free alternatives for children.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome at the cider farms, but not allowed inside during the tasting. The dog needs to be on a leash.

Can we purchase the cider?

The cider farms have outlets offering various alcoholic and non-alcoholic products. NB! Unfortunately, there will be no outlets on Sundays.
